Ethics In Systems Design To Enable A Human-Computer Interaction

Digital technologies involving human interactions with machines and well-integrated socio-technical systems are some of the latest trends, we see emerging from the technology sector. There is a need for an innovative approach to this capacity – known as the Human-Computer Interaction (HCI) a user-based interaction for systems design that involves complex and contemporary computer systems.

Purpose Of An HCI and System Designs

The main facet of ethics and system designs is in Artificial Intelligence (AI). The HCI is primarily concerned with human interaction in different systems. In ideal cases, it spans the model at the start of efforts for evaluation after implementation. For this, design and development have to be integrated first for user benefit at the individual level as well as the societal case. This is made sure through improvising different methodologies. For that matter, the human interaction with the system is highly considered before making an important decision.

As AI and Machine Learning(ML) have profoundly influenced the way we perceive technology in our daily lives, HCI is paving the way for directing many future decisions. Some approaches need to be tangible and intelligent, while some need to remain covert. For example, the Autonomous Weapon Systems are known as the WS, and social robotics with their subject of robot anthropomorphization and their role in assisting humans in different key aspects are all covered in the phase of planning ethics in system designs.

Ethics In Human-Computer Interaction

Although derived for humanity purposes, the HCI is not restricted to natural laws. Given its vast application and the complicated bond it forms with cognitive engineering, it involves different priorities and values of humankind to which we know as ethics so that these essential utilities to human progression are not left behind with the advancement in ML and AI.

When talking about ethics and morals in the HCI, there have been many dilemmas residing in different cultures, technologies, their interaction, agencies in question, and in the intent to inculcate best of ethics to the design of Robotics.
